Rebel with a Smile

She told me not to do it.
It was too hard.
She even said,
"There's always one who doesn't listen."
"And, they pay because of it."

Unassuming, smart, clever,...

"Just watch me."

and pulled back hair,

I stared at the crowd.
I smiled at the teacher.

With all eyes on me,
and a volcanic pressure under my skin,
I did it.
I proved her wrong.
I recited my monologue with a British accent.
