Week 4, Day 1 – Make a Difference
Twenty-two days ago, we started a story. We began our story by learning the basics of giving. We pinpointed ourselves on the Spectrum of Giving and we determined where we wanted to be at the end of the 28 Days. We’ve done a lot of internal work to bring our Spirit of Giving to a place of peace and [hopefully] eagerness to be Ready Givers this Christmas Season.
Now that we’ve come to the final week of healing our soul, it’s time to step out of our comfort zone once more and think about the big picture. It’s time to show the inward change in an outward way.
Making a Difference doesn’t have to involve a large crowd, or a big sum of money. Making a difference starts with a single action helping one person. Our difference so far has been within ourselves. We’ve made a change in our heart, our mind and our soul. That change now has the ability and responsibility to cause some ripples in the lives of those around us.
When we started this journey, I had no idea what was going to happen with this group. I was so consumed with my own misery, I really didn’t think I had much to offer anyone anything of use. Each week, you all surprise me with words of encouragement, and a grateful heart for taking the time to coordinate this. When I see the group member number increase as the days go by, it tells me you are finding something within the walls of this group to be valuable to you and something that is worth sharing. These are the ripples, my friends.
You have a story, just like you now know my story. You, too, have something special and unique to your life experience, your talent and your ability. Find it inside yourself and tell it. You don’t have to scream it from the rooftops, it doesn’t have to be some grand or elaborate event, but it needs to be shared. It needs to reach others in a way that will grip hearts and inspire a change for good.
*Mindful Moments – Think about your story. What grips your heart more than anything? What is so much a part of who you are you couldn’t imagine it not being there tomorrow? What perspective can your life offer? How can you tell your story with the passion that is already there? Please tell us about it! If you don’t want / like to write, make a short video! If you aren’t ready to tell the whole story, let us know the topic in the comments below.
*Grateful Graces – What are you thankful for today?
