ONLY

How rare is it for me to find the perfect pair of jeans/pants/jeggings?  So rare, that I’ve spent hours and hours, years upon years and $$$$ after $$$$ trying to find them.  I’m sure you can relate, no?!

Well, luck would have it that my 2015, end-of-year shopping trip just landed me the best pair of jeans I’ve ever owned.  Seriously.  It’s like the world was on my side for once, pushing CHANGE and good things into the new year for me.

Off in a small corner of a giant department store, I just happened upon the awesome brand called ONLY.

They are so comfy (and affordable) I picked up two pairs, one in dark blue and another in black.  They feel like my second skin.  It says so on the label; which also says it will make my bum look great.  My husband is in agreement with this statement.  Wink.

And, no, that’s not why I’m writing today.  Even so, you should really check it out, (the shop, not my bum) especially if you are in Europe like me.  (Only.com)  Wink, wink.

As I pulled the jeans from my drawer this morning, I stared at the tag hanging casually from the belt loop.  I wondered, what does ONLY mean?  What is it’s significance?  Why did they choose that word as the brand?  A few thoughts ran through my mind –

  • Is it the ONLY pair of jeans I need?  (YES)
  • Is it the ONLY pair worth it’s price?  (YES)
  • Is this ONLY brand one that mixes a cool, modern, classic style I love in an effortless way?  (YES, again!)

My mind games were not enough, though.  I felt like there was more to the story.  I needed there to be more to the story.  ONLY clearly isn’t the ONLY word for me today.

So, I dragged out my laptop, pulled up the company page and found this – “At ONLY we embrace the magic of the possibilities within everyday life…a mature twist with a focus on feminine strength, self-confidence and style.”  (see it on their page here)

Whoa.

This brand is talking my language here.

Maybe my word for the year should be ONLY and not CHANGE.  (See yesterday’s post here.)

Just kidding.

That’s when I decided it’s time to make a mission statement.  2016 is all about change for me, and that means changing my life for the better.  I’m upping the game, you might say.

This year, as I inch ever so slightly into my late thirties, my philosophy will be to mature with a focus on my feminine strength, all the while maintaining an ever-so-cool, modern, classic style in the midst of improving and gaining a healthy dose of self-confidence.

And, now, it’s like my personal philosophy is covering my behind; and with some international class, my friends.
